The British Oceanographic Data Centre (NERC/BODC) is a component of the UK Natural

Environment Research Council's (NERC's) environmental data centre network and has designated responsibility for marine data. Its mission is to act as a world class data centre in support of UK marine science and, in particular, to provide data management support for UK marine science, to maintain and develop the UK's national oceanographic database, to make high quality oceanographic data readily available to UK academia, industry and government, to develop innovative marine data products and digital atlases, and to collaborate, on behalf of the UK, in the international exchange and management of oceanographic data.

Survey on the Geographic Information Market in Europe
The Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD, as coordinator of the EU project HUMBOLDT, in cooperation with the Technical University Darmstadt prepared a survey on the European GI Market.
The main goal of this study is to deduce certain trends and future developments based on the opinions and expectations of market experts and decision makers and not to obtain a representative empirical study.
